Amanda Evans: Freelance Writer/Lyricist/Musician
I am a senior at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Journalism and minoring in English. I've done writing and editing work for several nonprofits (Notably: Vineyard Community Church, Beaded Hope, Good News Ministries) and narrative nonfiction writer, Joules Evans. I am particularly in love with narrative style writing, but also rebel into poetry from time to time. My passions in writing include nonprofit/missionary work, quirky things about life, and travel writing. My real world experience includes world travel (South Africa, British Isles, Mexico, Canada), a license as a Nail Tech and Salon Manager, and ethnic restaurant work.
I started a band with my brothers and some friends and we call ourselves The Kicked-In Fence (due to an incident that happened in England). We play acoustic, Indie stuff, and mainly play at local coffee shops. If you'd like to be on our email list, hit me up at: [email protected]. You can also check out some of our music at: myspace.com/thekickedinfence!
Most recently, I am branching off into a private electronic project with Doug Guy, who recorded my last album. That project is currently unnamed, but check back here for more news!
I also worked directly with Joules Evans on her book Shaken, Not Stirred: A Chemo Cocktail. This involved a monitoring editing process, and one final go-through at the pre-publishing stage. A couple of my songs will be published with the book. Find her book at: Joulesevans.com
If you would like to talk to me about any freelance work or need a lyricist, you can send me an email at [email protected].
